Follow the lines

Lines on the walkway at North Kohala Hospital in Hawaii

Kohala Hospital has been around since 1917. The buildings look a little worn, but they did build a new emergency wing a few years back. Recently, I was there to have blood work done and, after I reached my destination, I realized I should have been following the blue line! All’s well that ends well. including the blood results.

Blackburn’s Blue Butterfly

A Blackburn’s Blue Butterfly in Hawaii

I was hiking the Pu’u O’o Trail, off Saddle Road, when I saw this Blackburn’s Blue Butterfly (Udara blackburni). This butterfly is endemic and is also known as the Koa Butterfly since the Koa tree is its main host plant.
