Achilles Tang
Achilles Tangs are one of those fish that I see often, but rarely photograph because they zip away when my camera is raised. They’re particularly plentiful at Mauna Lani, and last weekend I encountered this one that was a bit slow with its escape.
Another beach visitor
I saw this Brown Anole on a beach at Hualalai, looking good against the coarse sand.

Gully
One of many gullies that run down the side of Kohala Mountain. When it rains at the top, which it does often, water funnels down the gullies to the ocean. Heavy rain, such as during the recent hurricane, can cause flash floods and dump a lot of sediment into the ocean. If the rain is heavy enough, it can also cause considerable property damage.
Wind driven
These clouds look like they’re in a hurry though, to be honest, I can’t remember if they were moving fast or not.
Sing us a song
An I’iwi belts out a song from the branch of a tree on the Pu’u O’o Trail off Saddle Road.
Easy to find in parking lot
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a paint job like the one I saw on this car parked in Kailua Kona. Also never seen one where the rear hubcaps were still spinning, while the wheels were stationary. It’s a vehicle intended to catch the eye and when it left, it sounded the way I thought it would sound, and was driven the way I thought it would be driven!
