This church, like many others, has a sign board out front, though this is the only one around here that’s a rather garish neon affair. I have to confess that when I saw this message my first thought was, ‘So, can I borrow his lawnmower?’ I’m going straight down to the hot place, I know.

One of the new features at Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a butterfly hut. In it are rows of chrysalises and, after the appropriate time, newly-emerging Monarch Butterflies. I took this photo to capture one such, but somehow, neither the butterfly or chrysalises can be distinguished. Instead, there’s reflections and layers of plants and mesh and glass at different levels, which I rather like.

Taking a photo of this Caribbean Agave, the important thing is not to lean over too far!

My favorite scene from my time spent in a waiting room a week or so ago. I hadn’t seen these wet bags before, but one would think that, to keep the floor dry, the bags would be better by the door. As it is, people have to walk across the dry floor, getting it wet, to access a wet bag to keep it dry!

I just think there’s something unreal about this. It looks like an arts installation or a Christmas decoration, rather than a plant. Not that I mentioned this at the time. It looks like it might respond badly.
