Hapuna Beach is rightly known for its long stretch of smooth sand and inviting water, but there are rocks to be found there. I think they add a bit of character.

The grill of a large Toyota truck and, yes, I am writing this in a deep, gravelly voice!

This young bull gave me a watchful look as I took photos over a flimsy-looking fence, but it quickly lost interest in me, and returned to grazing. Check out those flies!

Another unused photo from last month’s Becky’s Squares, Indo-Pacific Sergeants are boldly marked and often seen high up in the water.

My last photo for January was a sunrise shot of Mauna Kea with some interesting clouds (here). But the day before, the show was even more spectacular with some great lenticular clouds over the Waimea saddle.
