I spotted this Gold Dust Day Gecko deep in a clump of heliconias at Hawai’i Tropical Bioreserve & Garden.

A friend gave my wife a small bouquet of flowers from the garden. These ended up on a shelf below a print of one of my old photos, and I liked how the colors worked together. This photo also provides evidence that there is at least one snake in Hawaii!

Some light and shadow on the veins of a heliconia leaf.

Many people collect plants, but some plants are collectors, too. On my last visit to Hawai’i Tropical Bioreserve & Garden it had recently rained. This bromeliad (above) and heliconia (below) had collected, not only water, but also an assortment of vegetation. There might even be a fish in there somewhere!
