All the tired horses

An old car is overgrown by grasses in Hawaii

Bushboy has popped up with a second Weekend Puzzler (here) asking us to supply the obscurest photo to match the title or lyrics of the song All The Tired Horses.

This car used to have a good deal of horsepower, but they got tired right out, fell into a deep sleep, and have yet to wake up again.

Also posted for Becky’s Squares: Move Forward, Reconstruct, Renew, and/or are Burgeoning (more responses here), because this car’s going to need a lot of renewing before moving forward again!

Queen’s Wreath

Queens Wreath flowers in Hawaii

Queen’s Wreath (Petrea volubilis) is also known as Purple Wreath and Sandpaper Vine. It’s a native of tropical America, though not Hawaii. The plant can take the form of a vine or shrub. This one was more of a shrub. The blooms are prolific and can occur twice a year.

This week’s Sunday Stills monthly color challenge is ‘Diamond, Quartz, Crystal and/or Purple.’ See more responses here. I’m going with purple because I have nothing for the others! I was going to do another flower array, but then I had a wander around beautiful downtown Hawi and came up with these photos.

Sprinklers

Sprinklers spread water over a garden in Hawaii

I see these sprinklers going on my way home from work, but only if it’s been a long day, as they’re on a timer. Usually I think, I must take a photos of those, but don’t because it’s late, I’m tired, and I just want to get home.

Last week, the same scenario arose and I was driving by, when I thought, ‘I’ll feel better taking the photos than I will rushing home.’ So I stopped, took photos, and did feel better. At least, until I drove past a police car and, looking in my rear view mirror, saw blue light flashing and heard the siren going. Luckily, he was after the car in front of me!
